The palmcorder with SD memory cards and internal memory is an awesome advancement over the MiniDV tape camcorder...but when you shrink camera, space for the card slot becomes tight...the excellent SD card/Hard Disk SDR-H40P/PC Palmcorder I have by Panasonic has the tripod mounting plate cover over the SD card slot...either you have to constantly remove the plate or you....IMPROVISE...ADAPT....OVERCOME...! www.combatreform.org ...by modifying the tripod mounting plate with some DIY (hack saw and some whittling with a knife) to cut-out enough of the plate so the SD card slot is accessible with the tripod plate able to stay mounted.
